  • Precinct 4 Healthy Parks Plan

    A precinct-wide plan to create a healthier, more equitable parks and greenspace system—built through multilingual engagement reaching thousands in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese. Guided by core principles: meet people where they are (across languages, cultures, locations, experience); treat residents as experts and collaborators; and strengthen connections for ongoing collective action beyond the plan.

  • Greener Gulfton

    A neighborhood nature and climate plan co-created with the culturally rich, diverse Gulfton community—shaped by multilingual, community-centered engagement and a Green Ambassadors cohort. Residents were able to connect with—and shape—the Greener Gulfton goals, the project team, and one another, regardless of language or planning experience.

  • Mason Park "Heart of the Park" Design

    A design-phase effort to refine and activate Mason Park’s “Heart of the Park,” with cultural organizing integrated throughout workshops, intercepts, and targeted neighborhood outreach. This was rooted in the park’s nearly 100-year history—using an interactive timeline and story-sharing to connect longtime participants with new neighbors and build a sense of ownership.

  • Interpreting for Justice Training Fellowship

    An 8 week community interpreter training and leadership development fellowship that is designed to expand and strengthen multilingual knowledge, skills, and capacity for community members and organizations. Since 2022, I4J has prepared 120+ leaders across the Houston region.

  • Multilingual Organizational Capacity-Building & Accompaniment (MOCA)

    A hands-on capacity-building cohort: MOCA 2.0 paired 5 community organizations with expert consultant teams and a combined $125K in grants to pilot language justice projects designed to strengthen civic participation and create lasting change within Houston’s multilingual communities.

  • ACTION Language Justice

    A grant + capacity-building program for HIV Service Organizations across the U.S. South, led by/serving PLHIV and communities most impacted by HIV. Awarded a combined $441K in grants to fund language-justice projects and provided monthly multilingual (EN/ES) workshops and one-on-one coaching for partner organizations.
